Its summer time in the late 90s and Layne J. Aisling is just now figuring out that she is the only student in her graduating class that will not be given a diploma come June. Instead, she’ll be enjoying her summer in two remedial math classes and a required art class that she flunked out of during her high school career. However, this doesn’t have her down in the dumps. Who needs a high school diploma when the only job you’re expected to do is kill God? After a mishap with a mysterious wolf out in the woods Layne finds herself in the black marble halls of an elegant mansion; home of Lucifer himself. Thousands of years ago at the beginning of humanity on Earth, Lucifer was sent down to mentor a young girl named Eve and teach her the ways of becoming the perfect housewife. However, Lucifer wasn’t too fond of this idea and instead taught Eve to think for herself, ask questions and be independent. Sooner or later he found himself falling in love with the girl, but it was too late. His time with Eve ended after they were discovered having sex, by his brother Michael who was going by the name "Adam" at the time. He was sent back to the heavens and while there was forced into a duel against Michael and their father, Yahweh; getting himself banished to another realm along with a couple of his closest friends. Eve too was punished, hers being the immortal curse. Her soul would live on for all eternity and each life she lived would be as dire as the one before it. Lucifer, from over in the other realm, used up the majority of his powers to create a planet for him and the rest of the fallen. He wanted it to mirror Eden and be a home to all of those who were rejected by the so-called merciful God. He called it Hell. Then with the last bit of power he had left, he sent his godly abilities into Eve and turned her curse into a prophecy. In 666 reincarnations Eve would be reborn as a powerful demon, and she would be used to protect Hell from its angelic enemies, who are now ran by Michael, after Yahweh's "mysterious" death. And that’s where Layne comes in. Despite her apathetic and trouble making personality, Layne is forced to learn fighting techniques, defensive war strategies and most importantly how to control her newly acquired god-like powers in order to save her spiritual home. But things begin turning sour when a boy who has no memory of his origin is found outside Lucifer’s Manor, the recently developed “Satan’s Army” is being overrun with untrained demons and word has spread that the angels are planning on stealing the dead body of Lucifer to use him as a weapon against his own people! |
